Unresolved

This is a piece I drew in Photoshop as part of the poster for a new play we're putting on, written and directed by a friend. The play is called "Unresolved", and it's a sort of surreal and strange look at the afterlife, taking place in an abandoned subway station with a map of Dante's Nine Levels of Hell and a robot janitor created by God to clean up the mess. It's funny and weird and eerie, and we've got a great cast so I think it's going to be great.

Anyway, our idea for the poster was to show just a janitor with angel wings. Then it occurred to me to show the wings as graffiti on the wall behind him, that just happened to match up with where his shoulders were. (The idea isn't my own; I got it from *ursulav, who has done several paintings of exactly this, where graffiti wings on a concrete wall line up with the woman in front of them.) Obviously the poster has the title "Unresolved", and my other idea was to make the "o" line up with where a halo would be and glow, but I tried and failed miserably. And since we're on a time limit, I had to finish…though in true Susan fashion I'll be poking at it for weeks, and I just got the idea to put a light coming out of the wall at that spot, burned out…
