A couple of tulips I discovered in the yard of a house I passed on the way back from photographing this year's speckled violets in Vale Park. I loved the low sun and the way it made them glow, as well as how they were almost perfectly identical.

Hopefully more tulips soon, as well as other flowers!

I've been wanting to try one of those "painted-on" borders for a while, now, and I finally gave it a try with this photo. I also added some graniness to the background, inspired by a book I have that has some nice-but-not-great photography vastly enhanced by the grainy, blurred effect that's been put on the photos. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out--I may try something similar when I finally get a satisfactory shot of the speckled violets.

The way the light is catching the tulip heads is great! Quite magical!
I like the border too, its one I've used before myself- some photos look good with it. :)

The border on that may be the most striking part, not to say that the flowers aren't striking, but the border really makes the picture something that much more.

Thanks! I got the idea from *SilverMixx, as well as some photos I saw last year where the person had actually physically painted white around the edges of the photo to make the border.
