A scarf and hat I knitted back at the beginning of the winter, and only just now got around to photographing. Both are made with Lion Brand Homespun yarn in Deco, Sunshine State, and Sierra, and size 10 needles. I came up with both the patterns myself, although the scarf is pretty easy and probably can be found in any basic pattern book. The hat was more complicated--this was my second attempt (the first fit well but had a big hole at the top!) and it's rather silly-looking to wear. It's pointy and looks like one of Santa's elves, unless you sort of squash it down flat on the top of your head. Still, it was very effective during this long, cold winter, and the scarf is huge, so it was very nice and warm.

I am eventually going to modify the pattern so the hat fits better, and when I do I'll post it!

i really love the pattern i think it look great .....Lion Brand Homespun yarn is one of my favorite brand to work in i love it. ....personal i like long pointy hats their great to add a tassel too with out it looking odd....and the hat with the hole at would be great to wear if you had a pony tail in lol

Thanks! I like that idea of adding a tassel, actually--maybe I'll have to try that.

Homespun is some of my favorite yarn, too. I have all kinds of projects planned for it…

im started a baby blanket with it but i dont think thats going to happy the woman i was making it for is due in a couple days lol and i havent even got the first square started .... i need projects other wise i get side tracked ....i love making tassels i have a sinlge key ring for my car keys and its a yellow and orange tassel i made

:-) I've never made a tassel, but I want to try it (as well as pom-poms!)
And don't worry, I'm the queen of starting things at the last minute. You'll get the blanket done! (Especially if you use big needles…;)

ya thats what im doing lol if i dont then i know a couple other people haveing babies right now ... only the blanket i started is yellow and orange so i dont know if it will make a good boy blanket so i hope one is having a girl lol. i can not for the life of me make pom poms lol every one keeps telling me how easy they are but they just come out looking like deformed tassels for me lol
