Brown Butterfly

Alright, I couldn't resist. I can't have two of the butterflies up and not do the third one! This butterfly (or maybe a moth; I can't tell the difference) was really fun to photograph, because it loved these flowers so much it completely ignored me. Not camera shy at all! Best of all, it kept moving around so I could get it in different compositions and against different backgrounds, and bees and other bugs were attracted to these same flowers, so I got a lot of multi-bug shots (I'm such a nerd, I know). Since I had so many pictures of this butterfly, it was hard to choose the best one, but I finally decided on this one because it had mostly un-bloomed flowers, so the colors would work out and the pink wouldn't overwhelm everything (it almost did anyway; those flowers are really, really pink in real life). I would have liked the butterfly against a light background, but I did my best to keep the butterfly standing out. Still don't think this one works quite as well as the other two--they each have off-white that is brought out by the off-white border, but this one doesn't, and my attempts to add some artificially failed miserably. Ah, well, I still like it!
